Ovulation induction is a fertility treatment used to stimulate a woman's ovaries to produce multiple eggs, increasing the chances of conception. It is commonly used for women with irregular ovulation or those undergoing assisted reproductive techniques like intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF). Medications such as Clomiphene citrate, letrozole, or gonadotropins (FSH, hCG) are prescribed to regulate hormone levels and encourage egg development. Monitoring through blood tests and ultrasounds ensures proper response and helps avoid complications like ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Ovulation induction can be used alone or as part of a broader fertility treatment plan.
